And on top of that, school is over! No more classes or
awful tests that I'd fail.
Anyway, I'm literally doing backflips because it's only a few more days
before I get on that plane to Europe. As far as I know,
we're hitting three countries: Spain, France, and Italy.
I'd write more, but I'm too lazy, and I need to gather stuff for the
trip.
I'm not looking forward to getting to the airport early though. Or the
jetlag. Bleh...
As soon as I get back, I'll post a crapload of photos.
**** For friends who have my number:
Please don't call me until after the first week of June.
Unfortunately, calls, texts, etc that I recieve even if I don't

It's a wonderful place, people are friendly - unless you're German - and hte food is great.

I heard that people are really nice, but they have the highest crime rate or something, mainly for pick pockets.
How long did you stay in Italy?
O.o why do they have a problem with Germans?

I've spent two weeks there in the summer, with family. We visited Venice and a couple of small towns, like Treviso. It seems nobody knows about the latter one, even though it's a typical small Italian town with all the Renessaince feel to it.
I plan to go back to Italy one day, to visit places like Milan, Torino, Verona, Firenze, and of course Rome. Which places are you planning to visit?
They hate Germans because of what happened at the end of WW2: Italy capitulated (if that's the correct word saying gave up the war) to the Americans who have landed in Sicily and South Italy, but a few days later Nazi Germany invaded Italy becuase they declared the country, previously an ally, an enemy. And the Nazis did nasty things there too. There was a huge battle at Monte Cassino which destroyed cultural heritage, like a meideval library among many, as well as killed thousands of people, civilians and soldiers alike. It should say something about what the German soldiers must've done in Italy if people still hate them based on something that happened nearly 70 years ago.

I'll only be in Italy for two days, but I believe our group is staying in Rome.
Ahh. I see, I learned a little bit about it this year, but just the basics. Yeah, culutral hate like that can exist for years, and centuries.
For example, there is still a lot of hate toward the Japanese from Chinese people because of the Japanese invasion during World War II. Also like in the US down south, there is a lot of hate toward black people.
Hopefully though, time will heal the wounds.
